Do you find yourself waiting for the "right time" to start a new project? Do you procrastinate because you worry what others will think about what you are planning on doing? I have some thoughts this topic...
Hello and welcome to today's Thursday's Thought. My cherished group members, fellow dreamers and doers, thank you for joining me today. It's an absolute pleasure to offer my Thursday's Thoughts to you every week, sharing this moment with a group of individuals who, like me, have a burning desire to make the most out of their lives. Today, I want to talk to you about a topic that is near and dear to my heart – it's about "Stop Waiting On Your Life". In other words, stop the waiting game and truly seize the opportunities life has to offer.
How many times have you caught ourselves saying, "I'll start that project next month," or "I'll pursue my passion when the time is right"? It's so easy to fall into the trap of waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect circumstances, or the perfect opportunity. But the reality is, there will never be a perfect time. Life is constantly evolving, and the longer we wait, the more we miss out on the incredible experiences and growth that could be unfolding.
Think about it – what are you waiting for? Is it the right job, the right relationship, the right amount of money in your bank account? The truth is, waiting for everything to align perfectly is a recipe for inaction. Life is messy, unpredictable, and beautiful precisely because it's imperfect. So, why not embrace the imperfections and start living your life authentically and passionately right now?
Procrastination and fear often go hand in hand. We wait because we're afraid of failure, rejection, or the unknown. But what if I told you that waiting itself is a form of failure? It's a failure to take control of your destiny, a failure to live up to your true potential. Don't let fear dictate the pace of your life; instead, let it be the fuel that propels you forward.
I want to share a personal story with you. When I started my journey as a hypnotherapist and a business and life coach, (not to mention beginning this "Thursday's Thought" channel four years ago), I had a laundry list of excuses for why I couldn't begin right away. I thought I needed the perfect website, the perfect recording equipment, and the perfect topic. It took me a while to realize that perfection is an illusion. The most significant progress happens when we take imperfect action, learn from our experiences, and iterate along the way.
So, you might ask, how did I get over those thoughts and begin doing it. I tricked myself! Yup, one day I decided to order on Amazon any of the equipment I would need to create a semi-professional looking video broadcast. I began writing down dozens of topics I wanted to discuss with all of you. At the time I spent around $350 for the equipment and services I needed to stream my Thursday's Thought to multiple social media venues.
I was aware that I couldn't sit well with myself if I knew that I spent all that money and did nothing with the equipment I purchased. So I created my first broadcast and looking back on it now, I really sucked. But I was certain that I would get much better at it over time and here I am, four years and 204 episodes later, and I find that I actually suck at it a whole lot less.
Each one of you has a unique story, a passion, or a dream that is waiting to be unleashed. The world needs your voice, your perspective, and your contribution. So, I implore you, stop waiting for permission or validation. The only permission you need is your own, and the only validation that matters is the satisfaction that comes from living a life true to yourself.
In conclusion, my friends, life is too short to be spent waiting on the sidelines. Stop waiting for the stars to align and start dancing under the moonlight. Take that first step, embrace the uncertainties, and trust that the journey itself will shape you into the person you're meant to become. Remember, your life is happening now, not in some distant future. So, stop waiting and start creating the life you've always imagined. The world is waiting for the unique brilliance that only you can bring.
...and with these thoughts in mind, I hope you have a great rest of your day.
